City gathering input for Mississippi widening project
A map of the Mississippi Avenue widening project area near Buckley Air Force Base

The city of Aurora is hosting a virtual open house through May 26 for the Mississippi Avenue Widening Project happening near Buckley Air Force Base.

In 2018, the Aurora City Council approved funding for more than 25 transportation priority projects, which includes this project that will widen the stretch of road from Aspen Street (the southern Air Force Base entrance) to Louisiana Avenue.

Given the current COVID-19 circumstances, the project team will not be able to hold an in-person open house. However, public input is important to the city of Aurora and the entire project team. To ensure the community has an opportunity to learn about the project, provide feedback and ask questions, the city has posted a short summary video, project materials and an online feedback form. Please visit AuroraGov.org/TPP by May 26 to review project information and provide the team with feedback.
