Short Term Rentals - Important Information
As part of the new sharing economy, lodging services also known
as short-term rentals in private residences, have seen a rapid expansion. At
websites such as Airbnb, VRBO, and Homeaway, homeowners can list a room or
house for rent for just a few days or several weeks. If you have considered
listing your home on any of these websites, please stop now. HOA Covenants restricts the use of homes in
our association to residential purposes only.
The City of Aurora recently finalized regulations on these types of services. They stipulate that the regulations do not override HOA covenants that prevent homeowners from engaging in this type of activity.
